Alice in Wonderland Theme Week!

It's been too long!  By decree of the Queen, Chiki Bird Hat Studio declares "Alice in Wonderland Theme Week"!  A week long celebration through mini top hats (and other designs too) that will leave you wondering..."Whooo am I?" and "When IS a writing desk like a crow?".  We may never know but we'll have fun pondering these questions and more this week!

Wonderland was my very first theme week on my Facebook page way back when.  Since then I have sold hundreds and hundreds of Wonderland Themed hats (or Alice hats as I frequently call them).  I have come up with more creative interpretations since then.  Just recently, I have discovered my fondness for dioramas!  Naturally, I combined the love for hat making with my diorama fetish and...viola!  More Alice hats!

What is the fascination with Alice anyway?  Is it her curious nature?  Is it her "well, I'm not sure, I guess I'll find out" attitude?  Is it her dress?  Her no hesitation when encountering the oddest creatures ever created?  I pick all of the above!  What a wacky story.

This November is the 150th Anniversary of Alice in Wonderland, written by Lewis Carroll.  I couldn't wait to celebrate.  Let's do it now!

I take my inspiration for my new Alice hats mainly from Mr. Carroll's book illustrated by John Tenniel.  Classic Alice...nothing like it.  These illustrations have inspired generations of day dreamers, Wonderland seekers and artists alike.  Genius!

First the rules...

RULES FOR THEME WEEK;

-The contest will start with my first posting on Monday, August 31st through my last posting on September 5th at 9:00pm CST.
-You must "like" my facebook page in order to win.
-Each day I will post several hats throughout the day.  Every day there will be a new "Question of the Day".  Answer the question within the post and your name will get put into a hat (a literal hat...although last time I had to upgrade to a giant mixing bowl) for a drawing.
-If you don't have an answer for the question of the day or already answered it on a previous post that same day, you can comment on the post or share the post (you are not required to share the post, but I love  it when you do!).
 -You can answer/comment as often as you like on each post but your name will only be entered once for each post (so, you have a potential for getting your name in the hat several times a day depending on how many hats I post that day).
-You have until 9:00pm CST each day to post your answer or comments.  At that time I will be    putting your names in the hat...literally...I'll sit down and write your name on a piece of paper    and stick it in the hat!
-The drawing will be held on Saturday, September 6th when I get up.  The winners will be posted on Facebook.  Winners are responsible for contacting me via Facebook message to get the details.
-The prize is:
               -$30.00 to use in my Etsy shop
               This amount is not refundable; can only be used in my Etsy shop;
               CAN be transferred to a friend or loved one ; must be used by September 30, 2015;
               not good on custom orders or reserved hats.
-If you have won in the past...you can win again!  The slate is wiped clean!
Good luck!

A note about discounts: It is true...after each theme week I reward all my facebook fans with a coupon to use in my Etsy shop.  This time will be no different.  However, please note that the discount is not good on previous orders, reserved hats or custom hats.  Also, many of the hats unveiled this week are one of a kind and when they are gone, that's it!  I cannot remake them.   The sale will be on September 6th and end September 7th.

Some of the hats are extremely time consuming and while I can recreate some of them, I will not be taking custom orders on them.  What I'm trying to say is...if you like it, buy it or you may potentially miss out.

Hold on to your (ehem) hats!  Let the fun begin!

I've sold over 50 of this particular hat.  It is my classic Alice hat.  But wait...there's more!  Go to my Facebook page!
